Nahida receives ICC Player of the Month Award

Nahida Akter of Bangladesh Women’s Cricket team received the International Cricket Council (ICC) Player of the Month Award at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the capital’s Mirpur on Tuesday.

Nahida won the ICC Player of the Month Award for the month of November last year.

The other contesters for the prize are her compatriot Fargana Hoque and Pakistani Sadia Iqbal.

Nahida Akter received the award from the Chief Executive Officer of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Nizam Uddin Chowdhury Sujon.

Head of the Women’s Wing of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Habibul Bashar Sumon was present at the time.

Bangladesh Women’s Cricket team created history after defeating Pakistan Women’s Cricket team in the three-match T20I series by2-1 in August in Bangladesh.

Nahida Akter contributed something special as she captured seven wickets with an average of 14.00.

Bangladesh Women’s Cricket team also beat Pakistan in the three-match ODI series by 2-1 at the same venue.

Nahida Akter captured three wickets in the first ODI against Pakistan though Pakistan won the match by five wickets.

Nahida Akter picked up one wicket and broke a crucial partnership of Pakistan in the second ODI and Bangladesh won the match.

Bangladesh defeated Pakistan in the third ODI and Nahida Akter gave a contribution claiming three wickets at the cost of 26 runs.

Thus, Bangladesh won the ODI series.
