Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club split point with Fortis Football Club when their match ended in a 1-1 goal draw in their group B match of Federation Cup Football that resumed after over a month of recess on Tuesday.
In the day’s match, Nigerian forward Onekachi Okafor put Fortis ahead in the 28th minute but Ghanaian forward Samuel Boateng denied Fortis victory scoring a goal for Mohammedan in the 86th minute of the match held at Shaheed Dhirendranath Datta Stadium in Cumilla.
With the day’s outcome, the traditional black and white Motijheel outfits Mohammedan stand top of the group B with four points from two matches while Fortis Football Club collected two points playing the same number of matches.
Earlier, Mohammedan beat Bangladesh Police Football Club by 3-2 goals while Fortis FC played out to a 1-1 goal draw with defending champions Bashundhara Kings in their respective group opening matches.
In the other match, Bangladesh Police Football Club registered their first win as they edged past Arambagh Krira Sangha by a solitary goal in their group B match of Federation Cup Football that resumed after over a month of recess.
After the barren first half, Brazilian forward Azevado broke the deadlock scoring the all-important goal for Police in the 79th minute of the match was held at Bashundhara Kings aren.
The day’s win saw, Police FC opened their account with three points from two matches while Arambagh Krira Sangha yet to open their account playing the one match.
Earlier, Bangladesh Police FC, in their first match of the group, suffered a 3-2 goals defeat to Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited.
