The Latin-Bangla Super Cup was criticized for one mismanagement after another. Along with two clubs representing Brazil and Argentina, a team representing Bangladesh also participated in the tournament, so there was no shortage of interest among the country’s football fans. The three participating clubs were: Red & Green Stars of Bangladesh, Sao Bernardo FC of Brazil and Atletico Charlone of Argentina.
The announcement of the arrival of Brazil’s Cafu and Argentina’s Canizia added to the excitement. On Tuesday, the decision to allocate the field with AFB Boxing Promotion International was suspended due to allegations of insulting journalists and breach of conditions in the Bangladesh-Argentina match.
As a result, the Brazil-Argentina match on the 11th December at the National Stadium in Dhaka was abandoned and the total tournament was cancelled. Meanwhile, it was learned that two former star footballers of Brazil and Argentina, Cafu and Canizia did not come.
Although AFB Boxing Promotion International had campaigned with their names and greetings through video messages. Initially, Cafu was supposed to come, but later, in the face of demands from Argentine fans, it was announced that Canizia was also coming. But fans suspect that the video messages were created by Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Spectators entered the field by breaking the gate. The National Sports Council suspended the field allocation due to the incident of insulting journalists and violation of conditions on Monday . Later, the NSC cancelled the tournament on Tuesday.
