Khalid laid to rest next to the graves of his parents

Popular musician and lead vocalist of popular band ‘Chime’ Khalid Anwar Saifullah was laid to rest next to the graves of his parents.
After the Zohar prayer yesterday, Khalid’s second janaza was held at the SM Model Government High School ground in Gopalganj city. Later, his body was buried in the old municipal cemetery of the city.
Khalid cousin Noman Hossain Tomal informed the news yesterday.
Tomal said that Khalid’s first janaza was held at 11:00pm at the Green Road Jam-e-Mosque in Dhaka after his death last Monday evening. Later, around 3:30am, his body was brought to his residence in Ishaq Complex, Chowrangi Public Road in Gopalganj. Since dawn, thousands of devotees, fans, friends, relatives and well-wishers of the singer Khalid rushed to see him.
Tomal also said after Zohar prayers, Khalid’s second janaza was held at SM Model Government High School ground in Gopalganj city. Later, the district administration paid tribute to him with flowers. Thousands of people including district administration, political figures, Khalid’s friends, relatives, devotees and well-wishers participated in the janaza. His body was buried next to the graves of his parents in the municipal cemetery of Gopalganj city around 2:15pm on Tuesday.
This popular band artiste fell ill at his residence on Green Road in the capital last Monday afternoon.
Then he was taken to a nearby private hospital. The doctor on duty there declared him dead at 7:20pm.
According to family sources, Khalid Anwar Saifullah was born on August 1, 1965 in the city of Gopalganj.
He was the son of Hemayet Uddin Ahmed and Anwara Begum. Khalid was the youngest among seven brothers and sisters.
Khalid started his journey in the world of music in 1981. In 1983, he joined the band ‘Chime’. He rose to the top of fame in a short time by presenting hit songs one after another.
Khalid’s wife Shamima Zaman and only son Juaifa Arik could not attend his burial as they were in New York, USA.
