International Migrants Day and National Expatriates Day celebrated in the country with the theme ‘We will take our skills abroad, build our homeland with remittances’.
District Administration of Kishoreganj including Technical Training Centre (TTC), and District Employment and Manpower Office have arranged a colorful rally, expatriate fair and discussion meeting, marking the International Migration Day on Thursday.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Kishoreganj, Md.Aslam Mollah attended as chief guest, and Additional SP (Admin &Finance) Mukit Sarkar, ADC (Develop.) Aliul Islam as special guests, while Principle of TTC, Md.Zabed Rahim in the chair.
At the discussion meeting, various important issues including acquiring skills through necessary training in any subject for every expatriate, language learning, traveling abroad legally and sending remittances from abroad legally, the harmful aspects of hundi, various government initiatives for the welfare of expatriates, and things to do in expatriate life were discussed in detail.
At the end of the ceremony, mementos were presented to the individuals and banks providing the highest remittances in the district, and loan checks were distributed to overseas workers.
