Bangladesh will take on mighty India today in their fourth game of the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup at Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) Stadium in Pune.

Before the game Indian bowling coach Paras Mhambrey came to the press and said Bangladesh is a strong side and India have a certain plan to execute against Bangladesh.

“You have to try to implement the plan to the best of your ability. Bangladesh is a tough opponent. We are not thinking whether there will be an upset or not,” said Mhambrey on Wednesday.

Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman, Shoriful Islam, and Hasan Mahmud earned the trust of the team management by consistently providing a threat to opposing batters, motivating the team management to maintain its faith in the seamers.

Considering current year’s stats, the influence of Bangladeshi pacers speaks for itself, as they managed to shift the tables in their favor by taking 94 wickets, 32 more than their spin unit.

The Indian coach praised Tiger pacer Taskin Ahmed along with the spinners.

“Over the past few years, Taskin has been one of the best pacers in the world.

He is doing well in different venues and wickets. But in Bangladesh, there are not so many convenient wickets for pacers. But I saw he was doing very well. And to represent the country you have to play well.

Others are good as well. Spinners are also doing well. Both Mehidys [Mehidy Miraz and Mahadi Hasan] are doing well. Their squad is good, bowling attack too,” he added.

Skipper Shakib al Hasan, who is recovering from a thigh injury that he sustained during Bangladesh’s last game against New Zealand in Chennai is not a headache for the Indian side.

“You have to face anyone anytime. I don’t think there was any discussion about Shakib. He is definitely a good player, a champion player of Bangladesh. He is good with the bat, good with the ball.

I give him that credit. But it doesn’t matter if he’s playing or not” said Mhambrey.
