Host nation Ghana beat Uganda 1-0 to take the men’s football gold medal at the African Games at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday.
Jerry Afriyie’s injury-time strike secured the Black Satellites’ first football gold medal in the African Games for 13 years.
Uganda thus took the silver medal, with Senegal claiming bronze in the men’s football category.
Ghana also clinched gold in the women’s football tournament, after the Black Princesses defeated Nigeria 2-1 on Thursday.
