Staff Reporter : Bangladesh has protested Myanmar’s propaganda on Rohingya repatriation issue.
A press release from Bangladesh Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday said that a spokesperson for Myanmar’s state council office on November 15 claimed that repatriation cannot be started due to the non-cooperation of Bangladesh.
The country is trying to avoid the duty of creating a conducive atmosphere for living in Rakhine State by echoing such illogical and concocted narratives, the press release said it.
The foreign ministry said that it is a well-known fact that Myanmar created the Rohingya crisis. Its current government has maintained the policy of the previous regime in Rakhine state.
“Myanmar has created the problem. They will have to solve it and it is responsible for the lingering crisis,” the press notice said.
Bangladesh wants to implement the repatriation deal has been proved beyond doubt.
Rohingyas have stated on last August unequivocally in the presence Myanmar officials that they will only go back when the situation will be conducive.
The press release said that though Myanmar claimed that some Rohingyas have returned to Rakhaine but this does not prove that the situation has improved in Rakhine.
If the country wants to prove that the conditions in Rakhine are ivmproved, they should allow the UN, media and Rohingya leaders to visit the state.
