Foreign Affairs Advisor Touhid Hossain on Tuesday said Bangladesh will convey its response to India regarding the statement made by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Victory Day.
He made this remark while speaking to journalists at the foreign affairs ministry on Tuesday afternoon.
The foreign affairs advisor said, “Bangladesh will officially respond to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s comments on Independence Day.”
However, he clarified that the remarks made by the Legal Advisor concerning Modi’s statement are merely his personal opinions.
He emphasised that Bangladesh is actively working towards a peaceful resolution of the Rohingya crisis, saying, “I will be traveling to Thailand on Wednesday to discuss the Myanmar issue. During the trip, several sideline meetings are scheduled with heads of government from various countries as part of the D-8 summit.”
On the matter of Saint Martin, Foreign Affairs Advisor Touhid Hossain explained that due to the ongoing conflict in Myanmar, the route to and from Saint Martin is temporarily being altered. However, he assured that the issue will be resolved in the near future.
On Monday, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared a post on his verified Facebook page to commemorate Victory Day. He paid tribute to the courageous soldiers who contributed to India’s historic victory in 1971, honoring their selfless sacrifice and determination that helped safeguards the nation and bring it glory. Modi expressed that their exceptional bravery and unwavering spirit will continue to inspire generations and remain an integral part of India’s history.
