The 29th Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF) 2025 is set to commence today at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Centre in Purbachal.
Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus will officially inaugurate the event at 10 am, as announced by Trade Adviser Sheikh Bashir Uddin during a press conference held yesterday at the fair premises.
The press conference was attended by Commerce Ministry Secretary Mohang Selim Uddin, Vice Chairman of the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) Md Anwar Hossain, and Additional Secretary of the Commerce Ministry Md Abdur Rahim Khan.
For the first time, an e-ticketing service is being introduced at the fair, with a number of stalls and pavilions allocated online.
Ride-sharing service provider Uber will offer discounts to fair visitors, following the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Export Promotion Bureau during the event. Additionally, the Chief Adviser inaugurated an e-ticketing app to facilitate entry to the fair.
As in previous years, the fair is jointly organised by the Ministry of Commerce and the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB).
In addition to the BRTC’s dedicated bus services, visitors can benefit from discounted Uber rides.
Two notable landmarks, “July Chattar” and “Chattrish Chattar,” have been established at the fair venue to honour the sacrifices made during the student-led mass movement. A dedicated youth pavilion has also been set up to inspire younger generations to engage in export trade.
This year, 361 stalls have been allocated to local producers, exporters, general businesses, and foreign companies. Products on display for sale include textiles, machinery, cosmetics, electronics, furniture, leather goods, handicrafts, processed foods, home décor, and other items.
A total of 11 companies from seven countries – including India, Pakistan, Turkey, Singapore, Indonesia, Hong Kong, and Malaysia – are participating in the fair.
The month-long event will be open daily from 10 am to 9 pm, with extended hours until 10 pm on weekends.
