Couple, driver killed in Cumilla road crash

A couple and their driver were killed when the private car plunged into a roadside canal in Bangora Bazar area under Muradnagar upazila of Cumilla on Tuesday.
The deceased were identified as Saddam Hossain, 27, son of one Rafiqul Islam from Julaipar village in Nabinagar upazila of Brahmanbaria district, his wife Parvin Akhter, 24, and their driver Abdur Rahman, 28, from Kabirhat upazila of Noakhali district.
Md Kamruzzaman Talukder, Officer-in-Charge of Muradnagar Police Station confirmed the matter to the media and said that the accident occurred around 11am when the couple was going to Nabinagar from Chattogram after getting the death news of their relatives. Suddenly the vehicle skidded off the road and fell into the canal after the driver lost control over the steering, leaving all of them dead on the spot.
Victims bodies were sent to Cumilla Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy, OC added.
