The cabinet committee for procurement has approved three project of local government division-Dhaka environmentally Sustainable Water Supply, 67 government primary school cum flood shelters and Development of flyover roads and physical infrastructure in Haor area worth Tk1735 crore.
The committee approved the projects on Wednesday chaired by Finance minister Abul Hasan Mahmud Ali.
Later cabinet division Coordination and Reform SecretaryMahmudul Hossain Khan informed it to the reporters.
He said, ” The meeting has approved the increase in the time and cost of completion of the ‘Dhaka Environmentally Sustainable Water Supply’ project (Package-1).
The original contract price of this project was Tk3006 crore. Now the new expenditure has been increased to Tk951 crore. As a result, the revised contract price has increased to Tk 3957 crore.”
In the meeting, approval was given to the purchase proposal for the construction of 67 government primary schools and flood shelters in Gopalganj district.
National Development Engineers Limited will implement the project. It will cost Tk455 crore.
Besides, the Cabinet Committee on Government Procurement has approved the procurement proposal for the completion of the project package No CW-6 of the Development of flyover roads and physical infrastructure in Haor area.
National Development Engineers Limited and Shamim Enterprises Private Limited will jointly implement the project which will cost Tk328 crore.
