The Department of Architecture, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) organised a seminar titled “Nature-Based Solutions for Peripheral Futures of Dhaka: Bridging Micro-Scale Placemaking and Macro-Scale Urban Transformation for a Resilient Urban Vision” on 22 November 2025 at the BUET Council Building. The event was hosted by the Urban Design and Landscape (UDL) Division of the Department of Architecture, BUET. The event was supported by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, Bangladesh as the knowledge dissemination partner, and Credence Housing Ltd. as the logistics partner.
The seminar brought together around 130 participants. Professor Dr Abu Borhan Mohammad Badruzzaman, Honourable Vice Chancellor of BUET, joined as Chair of the session; Professor Dr Abdul Hasib Chowdhury, Honourable Pro Vice Chancellor of BUET, attended as Special Guest; and Mr Mohammad Azaz, Honourable Administrator of Dhaka North City Corporation, was invited as Chief Guest. Due to health concerns, Mr Azaz was unable to attend the seminar in person.
Attendees included invited professionals and practitioners, government officials, representatives from NGOs and development organisations, academicians, students, and members of the press.
