At least five leaders-activists were injured in the attack of Chhatra League on the rally of Daulatpur Upazila BNP who went to place wreaths at Shaheed Minar on the Independence Day.
One person was hospitalized with serious injuries. Eyewitnesses said that the BNP rally was chased away by the Chhatra League attackers.
Advocate Nurul Islam Kuntu, organizing secretary of Daulatpur Upazila BNP, said, “On Independence Day, flowers will be given at 8:30 a.m. but flowers will start at 9:00 a.m.”
