BD turned into a lawless country: BNP

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said that the country turns into a lawless situation.

Criticising the ruling Awami League (AL), in the way of January 7 dummy election the AL has grabbed the state power illegally and use this power to suppressed the BNP leaders and activists regularly.

In a statement on Thursday (March 21) he said that opposition leaders and activists are being harassed and humiliated by filing fabricated and baseless cases at a continuous pace.

The only purpose of such misdeeds is that the opposition parties of the country are not able to criticize the dictatorial behavior of the occupying government.

BNP Secretary General expressed deep concern over the fact that Jatiyatabadi Sechasebok Dal Central Secretary Rajib Ahsan and Office Secretary (Joint Secretary Rank) Abdullah Al Mamun surrendered to the lower court and the court refused bail and sent them to jail.

Mirza Fakhrul said that sending BNP leaders and activists to jail without bail in false cases has become a daily program of the fascist Awami government.

Canceling the bail of Rajib Ahsan and Abdullah Al Mamun and sending them to jail is part of the continuous misdeeds of the occupying Awami government.

He said, ” I am deeply concerned about the cancellation of their bail and imprisonment by the court.

We call for immediate withdrawal of the fabricated and political vendetta cases filed against them and their unconditional release.”
