BD-Nepal do-or-die match in SAFF U-15 Women’s Champ today

Bangladesh Under-15 Women’s Football team will take on Nepal Under-15 Women’s Football team in their do-or-die match of the SAFF Under-15 Women’s Championship at the Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Sepoy Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Stadium in the city’s Kamalapur today. All the previous matches were held at the same venue.
Bangladesh bagged six points from three matches, while Nepal gained nine points from as many games. Bangladesh have to win in the today’s match if they want to become champions in this meet. If Bangladesh win the match, Bangladesh and Nepal’s point will be equal. But by virtue of better goal difference, Bangladesh will lift the trophy. Bangladesh scored 17 goals and conceded only one goal in their three matches, while Nepal scored nine goals but they did not concede any goal in their three matches.
On the other hand, Nepal need just a draw if they want to clinch the title.
Bangladesh made a formidable start in the SAFF Under-15 Football Championship crushing Bhutan by eight goals to nil riding on Sauravi Akanda’s hat-trick in their opening match on November 1.
Bangladesh conceded a 1-0 goal defeat by Nepal in their second match at the same venue on November 5.
Bangladesh returned to the winning streak thrashing Bhutan by nine goals to nil riding on Sauravi Akanda’s double hat-trick on November 7.
Nepal made an auspicious start thrashing Bhutan by seven goals to nil in their first match on November 3.
Nepal retained their winning streak beating favourites Bangladesh by a solitary in their second match on November 5.
Nepal kept their winning journey beating Bhutan by a solitary goal in their third match on November 9.
Bhutan, the third team of this competition failed to score any goal.
The football competition is being held in round robin league basis.
Head Coach of Bangladesh Women’s Football team Golam Rabbani Choton said, ” Though my girls suffered a 1-0 defeat by Nepal in the first clash against them but we lost to them as there were some mistakes by my girls. Nepal got just one chance and executed that chance. On the other hand, We got at least five or six opportunities in that match. But my girls could not implement those. I hope we shall get chances in tomorrow’s match. If we can execute those we shall win the match.”
