Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation (BADC) observed the Great Victory Day 2025 with due solemnity and dignity, following its long-standing tradition.
The day’s programme formally began at dawn with the hoisting of the national flag at the BADC premises.
Later, floral wreaths were placed at the memorial dedicated to BADC officials and employees who took part in, and were martyred during, the Liberation War of 1971, paying deep homage to their sacrifice.
The organisation’s secretary, leaders of various professional bodies and officials and employees from all tiers participated in the programme, says press release.
Addressing a discussion meeting held afterwards, speakers said 16 December is a glorious day in the history of the Bangalee nation.
Through a life-and-death struggle against injustice, oppression and tyranny, the people of Bangladesh earned a new national flag and began a new chapter of living in freedom. They stressed that this hard-won independence must be safeguarded at any cost. The benefits of freedom, they added, must continuously reach all segments of the population.
Calling for a firm resolve to build a more prosperous Bangladesh, the speakers urged everyone to work for the country’s welfare and development, to stand united against all anti-liberation and anti-people forces, and to discharge their duties with honesty, integrity and a spirit free from repression, harassment and corruption.
