AL plans grand celebration for 75th founding anniv

The ruling Bangladesh Awami League (AL) is gearing up for a grand celebration of its 75th founding anniversary on June 23.

As part of the extensive plans, the country’s oldest political party will commemorate this milestone over three days nationwide, reaching every union and ward, according to AL General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister, Obaidul Quader.

In a press briefing held after a meeting with lawmakers from Dhaka district, the mayors of Dhaka South and North City Corporations, and AL leaders of Dhaka South and North units, Quader announced that all registered political parties would be invited to join the celebrations.

“Awami League will invite all registered political parties to its 75th founding anniversary programme,” he said.
The festivities will be inaugurated by Prime Minister and party President Sheikh Hasina in front of Bangabandhu Bhaban on June 23.

The opening ceremony will set the tone for the celebrations, emphasizing the party’s long-standing history and its contributions to the nation’s development.
Following the inauguration, a discussion meeting will take place at Suhrawardy Udyan at 3 PM, featuring speeches from prominent party leaders and invited guests.
The discussion will be followed by a cultural event, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Bangladesh and the AL’s role in fostering it.

Additional events are planned across the capital. A cultural programme will be hosted at Rabindra Sarobar, offering a variety of performances to engage the public. Moreover, a boat race and cycle rally are scheduled at Hatirjheel, promising a blend of sportsmanship and entertainment.
The 75th founding anniversary of the Bangladesh Awami League promises to be a memorable event, celebrating the party’s rich legacy and its ongoing commitment to the people of Bangladesh.
AL Presidium Member Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Joint General Secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim, Organising Secretaries BM Mozammel Haque and Mirza Azam, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Mohammad Ali Arafat, Dhaka North City Mayor Atiqul Islam, AL Executive Committee Member Sayeed Khokon, MP, Ferdous Ahmed, MP, AL Dhaka South unit President Abu Ahmed Mannafi and General Secretary Humayun Kabir, AL Dhaka North unit President Sheikh Bazlur Rahman, and Jubo League General Secretary Mainul Hossain Chowdhury Nikhil, among others, were present.
