Title aspirant Abahani Limited registered their 7th straight victory in the Green Delta Insurance Premier Division Hockey League as they beat Bangladesh Police Sporting Club by 4-2 goals in a match held at the Maulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium on Monday.
In the proceeding, national forward Rakibul Hasan Rocky of Abahani scored a brace, while Ashraful Alam and Indian recruit Shishi Gowad supported him with a lone goal each for Abahani Limited.
Abdul Malek and Ahsan Habib netted one goal apiece for Bangladesh Police Sporting Club.
Abahani took the lead early in the 5th minute of the first quarter through a field goal by Rakibul Hasan Rocky.
Police also squandered several chances in this quarter.
They got total eight penalty corners in the whole match, but were able to convert only one of them into a goal.
Rocky doubled the lead scoring his second field goal in the 23rd minute of the second quarter, while Abdul Malek pulled one back scoring a field goal for Police in the 29th minute of the match.
