5 films get nod just 3 days before Eid

With only three days left before Eid, the Bangladesh Film Certification Board has granted screening permission to five films scheduled for Eid release.

The news was confirmed on Monday by the board’s Deputy Director, Md. Moinuddin.

The films are ‘Domm’ directed by Redoan Rony, ‘Rakkhosh’ by Mehedi Hassan Hridoy, ‘Prince’ directed by Abu Hayat Mahmud , ‘Pressure Cooker’ by Raihan Rafi, and ‘Bonolota Express’ directed by Tanim Noor.

According to relevant sources, the films are being granted certification after completing the necessary formalities following their screenings at the Certification Board.

As a result, the films are now moving forward with their release preparations.

The film ‘Domm’ has received a ‘U’ grade, meaning it is suitable for audiences of all ages. Director Redoan Rony said the film received its censor certificate without any cuts.

The movie stars Afran Nisho, Chanchal Chowdhury, Puja Cherry, and Dolly Zahur, among others.

Director Raihan Rafi is bringing ‘Pressure Cooker’ this Eid. A nearly one-and-a-half-minute glimpse of the film has already been released, which the director described as a “First Whistle” rather than a teaser.

The Certification Board has granted the film an uncut censor certificate today.

Produced jointly by Impress Telefilm and Kanan Films, ‘Pressure Cooker’ revolves around four actresses rather than a male lead.

The cast includes Shabnam Bubly, Nazifa Tushi, Snigdha Chowdhury, and Maria Shanta.

The film also features Fazlur Rahman Babu, Shahiduzzaman Selim, Misha Sawdagor, Azizul Hakim, and Saberi Alam.

‘Prince: Once Upon a Time in Dhaka’, directed by Abu Hayat Mahmud, has also received release approval following its poster and teaser releases.

The film focuses on the underworld crime scene of Dhaka and stars Shakib Khan.

He is joined by actors Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Tasnia Farin, and Jyotirmoyee Kundu.

The film also features Rashed Mamun Apu, Intekhab Dinar, Dr. Ejaz, and Sharif Siraj, among others.

The movie was shot in various locations in Bangladesh, as well as in India and Sri Lanka.

The Eid release lineup also includes ‘Rakkhosh’, which has received approval for release today.

The film is restricted to viewers aged 18 and above. It stars Siam Ahmed alongside Kolkata actress Sushmita Chatterjee.

Earlier, producer Shahreen Akter said that audiences have not seen a “crazy love story” on the big screen for quite some time.

According to her, ‘Rakkhosh’ is a wild love story that also includes elements of family drama.

Meanwhile, ‘Bonolota Express’, directed by Tanim Noor, has received approval for viewers of all ages.

The film stars Mosharraf Karim, Chanchal Chowdhury, Intekhab Dinar, Zakia Bari Mamo, Azmeri Haque Badhan, Sariful Islam Razz, and Shamol Mawla, among others.
