Van driver killed in Shibganj

A van driver was killed in a collision with a trolley in Shibganj.

The deceased, Hazrat Ali (25), was a resident of Raninagar Raghabbati village in Manaksha Union of Shibganj Upazila, Chapainawabganj district, and the son of Md. Hasan Ali. The incident was confirmed by the concerned Union Parishad member, Jem Ali.

Eyewitnesses and family sources reported that on Monday morning, March 16, around 7:30 a.m., Hazrat Ali left Sahapara Bazaar with a van loaded with goods.

On the way to Manaksha, his van was hit by a trolley van loaded with goods in the Gopalpur Ghat area. The trolley driver fled the scene after the collision.

At the time, Hazrat Ali fell under his van and sustained serious injuries.

Locals rescued him and took him to Shibganj Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctor declared him dead upon admission.

Regarding the incident, Shibganj Police Station OC (Investigation) Shakil Hasan said that since no formal complaint was filed, the body was handed over to the family.
