Tigers clinch ODI series 2-1 against Pakistan

Bangladesh Cricket team clinched the three-match One Day International (ODI) series 2-1 after defeating Pakistan Cricket team by 11 runs in their third ODI match at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the capital’s Mirpur on Sunday.

Opener Tanzid Hasan notched up a superb run-a-ball 107 with seven sixes and six fours. It was maiden century for Tanzid Hasan in his ODI mission and also international campaign.

Sent into bat first, Bangladesh piled up a mammoth total of 290 for the loss of five wickets in the stipulated 50 overs and then all out Pakistan for 279 runs in 50 overs.

Openers Saif Hassan and Tanzid Hasan made an auspicious start as they put up together 105 runs for the opening partnership before Saif Hassan was bowled out by Shaheen Shah Afridi. Saif Hassan made 36 off 55 balls with three fours.

After Saif’s departure, Tanzid Hasan and Najmul Hossain Shanto contributed together 53 runs in the second wicket stand before Shanto was trapped leg before wicket by Haris Rauf when the hosts’ total was 158 for the loss of two wickets.
Shanto scored 27 from 34 deliveries including three fours.

After Shanto’s dismissal, Tanzid Hasan and Litton Das added together 36 runs for the third wicket partnership before Tanzid Hasan caught at the mid-off by Shaheen Shah Afridi off Abrar Ahmed when Bangladesh’s score was 194 for the loss of three wickets.

After Tanzid Hasan’s dismissal, Litton Das and Towhid Hridoy built a worthy partnership.

They scored together 68 runs in the four-wicket stand before Litton Das was caught at the deep square leg by Ghazi Ghori off Haris Rauf when the home side’s total was 262 for the loss of four wickets.

Litton hit a polished 41. His 51-ball knock was studded with one six and one four.
After Litton’s departure, Rishad Hossain arrived at the crease but he could stay at the pitch as he (0) was bowled out by Haris Rauf when Bangladesh’s score was 262 for the loss of five wickets.

After Rishad’s removal, Towhid Hridoy and Afif Hossain contributed together 28 runs for the unbroken six-wicket stand before Bangladesh’s innings came to an end.

Hridoy remained unbeaten with 48 runs. His 44-ball innings was belted with four fours.

Haris Rauf grabbed three wickets in the space of 52 runs.
Pakistan faced an early debacle as they lost three wickets for 17 runs.

Ghazi Ghori and Abdul Samad repaired the damage adding together 50 runs for the fourth wicket partnership before Ghazi Ghori (29) was bowled out by Nahid Rana when Pakistan’s score was 67 for the loss of four wickets.

Later, Salman Agha and Saad Massod built a remarkable partnership scoring together 79 runs in the six-wicket stand before Saad Masood (38) was bowled out by Mustafizur Rahman when Pakistan’s score was 161 for the loss of six wickets.

Salman Agha restored some parity for his country hitting a superb 106. His 98-ball innings was decorated with four sixes and nine fours.

Taskin Ahmed captured four wickets in lieu of 49 runs, while Mustafizur Rahman grabbed three wickets instead of 54 runs and Nahid Rana bagged two wickets for 62 runs.
