2 killed in road accidents

Two people, including a child and a woman, were killed in separate road accidents in Narayanganj on Saturday. The incidents took place in Araihazar and Bandar upazilas in the morning.
According to reports, a child named Tasfia was killed in a head-on collision between a worker-carrying bus and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Araihazar on Saturday morning.
Several injured passengers were admitted to Araihazar Upazila Health Complex. Tasfia was the daughter of Ali Hossain from Alipur area of Cumilla district. The accident occurred while she was traveling with her family by CNG from Dhaka to Alipur.
In a separate incident, Rita Halder was killed after being struck by a speeding truck while riding a motorcycle with her husband on the way to her workplace in the Nabiganj Bus Stand area of Bandar upazila around 10:00 am.
She was a Senior Staff Nurse at Nawabganj Upazila Health Complex in Dhaka. Rita was the wife of Khokon Barai from Kathira village in Agailjhara upazila of Barishal.
Officer-in-Charge of Araihazar Police Station, Alauddin, said the child’s body was handed over to the family as no complaint was filed.
The bus has been seized, and police operations are ongoing to arrest the driver and helper.
