Women's Asia Cup Rising Stars: Bangladesh ‘A’ reach semis

Bangladesh ‘A’ Women’s Cricket team retained their supremacy in the Women’s Asia Cup Rising Stars beating Thailand ‘A’ Women’s Cricket team by three wickets in their second Group-B match at Terdthai Cricket Ground in Bangkok on Monday.
By virtue of yesterday’s victory, Bangladesh women reached the semi-finals.
Chasing Thailand women’s fighting total of 103 for the loss of nine wickets in the allotted 20 overs, Bangladesh women sailed home making 104 for the loss of seven wickets when they had just one ball to spare.
Farjana Easmin played the key role hitting a windy 23. Her 15-ball knock had three fours and a sixer. She was adjudged the Player of the Match for her match-winning innings.
Bangladesh lost their early three wickets for 11 runs.
Opener Shamima Sultana and third down Lata Mondol repaired the damage contributing together 43 runs for the fourth wicket partnership before Shamima Sultana was dismissed by Sunida Chaturograttana when Bangladesh’s score was 54 for the loss of four wickets.
Shamima Sultana notched up a polished 26. Her 29-ball innings was laced with three fours.
After Shamima’s dismissal, Lata Mondol and Fahima Khatun added together 19 runs in the fifth wicket stand before Fahima Khatun was dismissed by Onnicha Kamchomphu when Bangladesh’s total was 73 for the loss of five wickets.
Fahima Khatun made 12 from 16 deliveries including two fours.
After Fahima’s departure, Lata Mondol and Farjana Easmin put on together 18 runs for the sixth wicket partnership before Lata Mondol was dismissed by Thipatcha Putthawong when Bangladesh’s score was 91 for the loss of six wickets.
Lata Mondol hit a sedate 30. Her 40-ball innings was belted with two fours.
After Lata Mondol’s departure, Farjana Easmin brought her team almost victory target.
Putthawong captured three wickets instead of 25 runs, while Phannita Maya bagged a pair of wickets for 21 runs.
Kamchomphu and Chaturongrattana got one wicket conceding 17 and 24 runs respectively.
Earlier, Thailand lost their wickets in regular intervals.
Nannapat Koncharoenkai, Natthakan Chantham, Kamchomphu and Maya reached the double-digit figures. Nannapat hit a notable 34. Her 38-ball innings was laced with four fours.
Natthakan hit 24 from 34 deliveries with four fours.
Kamchomphu and Maya added 17 and 12 runs respectively to the Thailand total.
Shorifa Khatun and Fahima Khatun grabbed two wickets each in the space of 14 and 16 runs respectively.
Fariha Trisna, Jannatul Ferdus and Sanjida Akter took one wicket each for five, 12 and 13 runs respectively.
