Kazi Mahmood Sattar new chair of IDLC Finance

Kazi Mahmood Sattar has been elected as the new Chairman of the Board of IDLC Finance PLC, the country’s leading NBFI.

The decision was finalized at the 360th board meeting of the company held on Thursday.
Earlier, he led IDLC Finance as a nominated director. An expert in the financial sector with a career spanning over four decades, Kazi Mahmood Sattar brings a wealth of strategic leadership knowledge and transformational expertise to IDLC.

He started his career at the ANZ Grindlays Bank in 1981, later he also served for this bank in Mumbai and Melbourne regions. He spearheaded the corporate and investment banking divisions of ANZ Grindlays Bank in Bangladesh.

He is also credited as the founder of the country’s first investment banking arm.
Sattar served as managing director and CEO of Eastern Bank PLC and City Bank PLC – two of the country’s leading commercial banks.

He also successfully served as independent director and chairman of the board executive committee of Brac Bank PLC, as director of bKash Ltd, and as chairman of IPDC Finance PLC.
He is currently chairman and director of RSA Advisory Ltd, RSA Solution Ltd, and Blue-Wealth Assets Ltd.
He is also one of the nominated directors of RSA Aviation Ltd and Unique Hotel & Resorts Ltd.
