DMP bans gatherings around Secretariat, Jamuna

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has imposed a ban on all meetings, assemblies, processions, sit-in, human chains, and mass gatherings in and around the Bangladesh Secretariat and the official residence of the Chief Adviser, Jamuna, citing public order and security concerns.

The restriction enforced under Section 29 of the DMP Ordinance, will take effect from Monday, January 5, 2026, until further notice, said a DMP press release on Sunday.

The ban will cover the areas between Hotel InterContinental Crossing, Kakrail Mosque Crossing, Officers Club Crossing, and Mintu Road Crossing.
