Shibir elects Saddam president, Sibgatullah secy

Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir on Friday elected its new central leadership for the 2026 session, with Nurul Islam Saddam chosen as president and Sibgatullah appointed secretary general.
The election and nomination were completed through voting at the organisation’s central members’ conference held at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre in Agargaon on Friday.
Party sources said Nurul Islam Saddam had been serving as the organisation’s secretary general prior to his election as president.
He holds both undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in economics from Khulna University and is currently enrolled in a postgraduate diploma course in entrepreneurial economics under the University of Dhaka.
Sibgatullah, the newly appointed secretary general, previously served as the central office secretary of Islami Chhatra Shibir and as president of its Dhaka University unit.
The conference formally concluded the leadership transition for the upcoming session.
