BNP, Jamaat, CPB to vie for vote

Ahead of the upcoming 13th National Parliament elections, the campaigning of potential candidates has already started in full swing in Kishoreganj -1 (Sadar- Hossionpur) constituency.

This time, Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Dal ( BNP) wants to win all sets in Kishoreganj. Awami League ( AL) was once dominant in this district. Since the party’s activities are banned, there is no possibility of Awami League (AL) participating in the elections. BNP wants to make full use of this opportunity.

MP candidates of political parties have continued their mass outreach though mass outreach, street meetings, yard meetings, posters,banners, and handbills in the constituencies –162.

Jamaat -e-Islami has not been able to win any seat from Kishoreganj in any election.

Political parties campaigning include the Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB), National Citizens Partt (NCP) Islami Andolan Bangladesh, Khelafat Majlis, Gana Adhikar Parishad and Bangladesher Samajtantrik Dal (BSD).

Kishoreganj-1 (Kishoreganj-Hossainpur) This constituency consists of 11 unions of Kishoreganj Sadar Upazila including Kishoreganj Municipality and six unions of Hossainpur Upazila including Hossainpur Municipality. Dr. Zakia Noor Lipi of Awami League won the 12th National Parliament election from this constituency, she is the younger sister of late Syed Ashraful Islam.

After Syed Ashraful Islam passed away, Dr. Zakia Noor Lipi was elected from this constituency in the by-election.

Although BNP nominated candidate, also district BNP general secretary Mazharul Islam is a potential candidates.

Principle Md. Mosaddek Bhuiyan, district Nayeb-e-Ameer of Kishoreganj,who was campaign as a Jamaat -e-Islami candidate. He has continued its efforts to win over voters at the field level for national election.

Judge Rejaul karim Khan Channu, a retired Divisional Judge, also former district BNP Senior vice-president, founder Chatra Dal central vice-president (1978-80), Veteran Freedom Fighter has continued his campaign as an MP (rival) candidate of independent.

He seriously election campaign in this constituency. The potential candidates from other parties are Islami Andolan Bangladesh’s Professor Hafez Maulana Azizur Rahman Germania, National Citizens Party (NCP) Ahnaf Sayed Khan, Gana Adhikar Parishad’s Abu Hanif, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam’s Maulana Muhammadullah Jami and Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis’s Maulana Hedayetullah Hadi, Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) advocate Enamul Haque, and Bangladesher Samajtantrik Dal (BSD) advocate Masud Ahmed Bhuiyan. They are preparing for national election.

However, it will be known only after the schedule is announced who will be in the final battleground.
