Monzur Mofiz new AMD of Premier Bank

Md Monzur Mofiz has been appointed as Additional Managing Director (AMD) of The Premier Bank PLC and has subsequently been entrusted with the responsibility of Managing Director (Current Charge), effective from Sunday.

A veteran banker with nearly 32 years of experience, Md Monzur Mofiz started his career in Sonali Bank PLC in 1993.

Prior to joining Premier Bank, he served ONE Bank, Dutch-Bangla Bank, The City Bank, AB Bank, and Sonali Bank in different capacities, according to a media release.

Key achievements under his leadership include centralizing corporate banking, formulating robust fund management policies, streamlining cost control, driving retail and SME deposit growth, expanding Mobile Financial Services (MFS) and agent banking to remote areas, and launching full-fledged Islamic banking services.

Md. Monzur Mofiz holds a Bachelor’s degree in B.Sc in Civil Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET) and an MBA in Finance from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka.

He has proven capabilities in industry analysis, financial inclusion, credit/equity structuring, team building, and stakeholder management, the release adds.
