Bollywood: New decision on Deepika’s return to films after protests

Agencies :

Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone has been in the news for the past few months.

The criticism started after she was dropped from the team of Sandeep Reddy Bhangar’s film.

Later, her name was also dropped from the sequel of Nag Ashwin’s ‘Kalki’; this also raised questions about her professionalism.

However, Deepika’s fans have always stood by her. Allegations are that she is being purposefully marginalised in the industry.

Recently, a new controversy started after Deepika’s name was not included in the end credits of the film ‘Kalki 2898 AD’, which was released on OTT.

When the issue spread on social media, there was a strong reaction among the audience.

On Wednesday night, viewers saw that even though everyone’s name, including Amitabh Bachchan, was in the film’s credit list, Deepika’s name was missing. After that, the production company Vyjayanti Films took a new step.

The next day, it was seen that her name had been added to the film’s credit list.

Although the company has not made any official comment on the matter. Some viewers have also claimed that Deepika’s name was not there initially; it was added only after online protests.

On the other hand, many are saying that her name was already there in the Hindi and Telugu versions of the film, perhaps due to a technical glitch, it was not shown in some versions.
