AKIJ Resource Leads Digital Transformation: “From Conventional to Smart”

AKIJ Resource, one of Bangladesh’s largest and most diversified multi-sector business group, showcased its journey of enterprise technology, automation, and digital ecosystem-based transformation at a press meet held in Dhaka.

The event, titled “From Conventional to Smart: AKIJ Resource Leading the Digital Transformation,” highlighted how the organization is implementing a digital-first strategy that connects employees, partners, suppliers, and customers across more than 12 business clusters. This extensive network is generating real-time operational intelligence, enhancing transparency, speed, and efficiency across the national value chain.

The press meet was graced by the presence of key leaders from AKIJ Resource and its technology ventures, including Towfique Hasan, Chief Business Development Officer; Engr. Md. Firoz Kabir, Chief Digital & Innovation Officer (CDIO); Sk Md Jayed Bin Rashid, CEO of iBOS Limited; GM Kamrul Hassan, CEO of AKIJ Infotech, Blue; and Shahed Iqbal, Chief Sales Officer, AKIJ iBOS.

In the keynote session, speakers emphasized that AKIJ aims to design the digital ecosystem of Bangladesh, a vision they have been preparing for decades. With their own data center and homegrown software, they have seamlessly connected customers with suppliers and strengthened their presence in retail through POS systems and market outreach. The company employs 400 in-house IT specialists and is advancing Industry 4.0 automation in their factories, positioning themselves as a laboratory for scalable digital solutions for Bangladesh and beyond. Serving over 9 million customers, including 100,000 direct clients, AKIJ is committed to contributing to the country’s automation, AI enablement, and economic digitalization, with plans to create one million jobs and drive tenfold growth since 2020.

The session concluded with a corporate video presentation and a panel discussion. Industry experts noted that AKIJ Resource’s digital infrastructure is strengthening the national industrial ecosystem, fostering public-private collaboration, and accelerating Bangladesh’s progress toward a robust digital economy.
