Protest demanding hanging of Isahak's killers at Pirganj

A human chain and protest rally were held demanding hanging of the killers of
Isahak Ali, a computer parts trader and victim of Jabarhat Bazar in Pirganj Upazila
of Thakurgaon. The program was organized by the locals at Jabarhat Bazar of the
upazila on Wednesday afternoon. The rally was addressed by Jabarhat Union Chairman Ziaur Rahman Zia, former chairman Humayun Kabir, former chairman Abdus Safir, Upazila BNP Information and Research Secretary Akhtaruzzaman, Union BNP President
Zahidur Rahman Dollar, Pirganj Online Journalists Association President Badal
Hossain, deceased Isahak's mother Safila Khatun, elder brother Yunus Ali, elder
sister Samsun Nahar and local dignitaries. After the rally, hundreds of locals broke
out in protest demanding hanging of the killers. The speakers said that on the night of July 20, 2021, businessman Ishaq Ali was brutally slaughtered and killed by miscreants. The locals saw the mutilated body and informed the police the next morning. The police recovered the body and sent it to the morgue. The incident created a sensation in the area.
After the incident, the family of the deceased filed a case with Pirganj Police
Station. The police conducted a raid and arrested Nayan (20) of Jabarhat village,
Ariful Islam (32) of Madhabpur village, and Mejbaul Islam (18) of Chandaria
village and sent them to jail through the court. They were later released on bail.
The main accused in the case, Masud Rana, son of Nurul Member of Chandaria
village, fled to India immediately after the murder. After a long four years, on
October 24, the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) arrested Masud and pushed
him into Bangladesh. Later, Pirganj Police Station arrested him and sent him to jail
through the court. Another accused in the case is absconding. The speakers complained that even after four years of the murder, the trial is still not over. Meanwhile, the accused, who are out on bail, are threatening the victim family in various ways. The speakers called for the immediate arrest of all the accused in the case and their detention in jail to complete the trial quickly.
