Ex-home minister among 174 sued in Rangpur cases

Another two more cases have been filed on Thursday against 174 people including the former Home Minister for killing, vandalism and vandalism in Rangpur to suppress the anti-discrimination student movement.
In the Mahmudul Hasan Munna murder case, former Social Welfare Minister Mohammad Nuruzzaman Ahmed, former State Minister for Local Government and Rural Development and Cooperatives Mosiur Rahman Ranga have been named as 128 accused. Apart from this, another case has been filed against 46 people, including the former home minister, for shooting of a student.
The lawyer of the case said that the Awami League and its affiliates and affiliated organizations attacked the student crowd with firearms and sticks in front of the mini supermarket in Rangpur city during the protest of the student crowd on August 4.
At that time, when the father came to give lunch to Abdul Majid, while passing through the area, the attackers beat and hacked Mahmudul HasanMunna with sticks and native weapons and seriously injured him. When he was rescued and taken to Rangpur Medical College Hospital, the doctor declared him dead.
Former Social Welfare Minister Mohammad Nuruzzaman, former State Minister for Local Government and Rural Development and Cooperatives Mosiur Rahman Ranga, former MP Motahar Hossain, Motiar Rahman, Safura Khatun, Ahsanul HaqueChowdhury Duke, former Badarganj Municipal Mayor Tutul Chowdhury, Badarganj Upazila were present in the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Court in this case. The deceased’s father, Abdul Majeed, has filed a murder case against the names of 128 people, including former chairman of the Parishad Fazle Rabbi Sweet, former chairman of Kaliganj Upazila Parishad of Lalmonirhat Rakibuzzaman Ahmed, former general secretary of Rangpur Mahanagar Awami League Tushar Kanti Mondal.
Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Court Judge Raju Ahmed Babu took cognizance of the case and ordered the Metropolitan Kotyali police station to record the case.
