As a community dedicated to serving society, the North South University Social Services Club (NSUSSC) has always made it a top priority to help flood-affected people. Like every year, the club launched its “Flood Relief 2024” to immediately respond to the urgent situation and help the flood-affected people.
Through their campaign, NSUSSC has collected donations from students and staff to provide essential supplies to the flood-affected people. North South University (NSU) has also played a significant fundraising role. This combined effort collected over 3 lakh taka in just two days. Additionally, the NSU authority has also contributed to the fund.
Determined to utilize this generosity to assist those in need during this calamitous situation, NSUSSC has gathered relief for more than 1200 families, each receiving around 15-16 necessary items consisting of fresh drinking water and foods such as biscuits, chira, gur, saline, dates, powdered milk, sugar and other supplies such lighter, candle, paracetamol, omeprazole, sanitary napkin, lungi for men, maxi dress for women, etc. They have already received calls from Noakhali, where the situation is progressively getting worse. Their team already went to Lakshmipur with the relief supplies on Monday night, 26th August.
The club has conducted this campaign with excellent transparency and accountability. The generous donations and widespread support have made the campaign highly effective during these trying times.
