25 DCs transferred

The deputy commissioners of 25 districts have been removed from their posts and transferred to various ministries and government offices.

The Ministry of Public Administration issued two notifications regarding these transfers on Monday.

The affected districts include Dhaka, Sylhet, Habiganj, Mymensingh, Magura, Rangpur, Gaibandha, Naogaon, Natore, Cox’s Bazar, Chattogram, Noakhali, Gazipur, Cumilla, Khulna, and Gopalganj. In a separate notification, the deputy commissioners of Faridpur, Sherpur, Kushtia, Jhenaidah, Pabna, Bogura, Joypurhat, and Chandpur were also transferred.

No new deputy commissioners have been appointed in these districts as of yet.

Since the interim government took over, various state reforms have been announced. Numerous officials have resigned following the ouster of the Awami League government.

Earlier, on August 14, the interim government terminated the contracts of 10 secretaries or officials of equivalent rank and sent another secretary into compulsory retirement in a significant administrative overhaul.
