Over 40 hurt in clash between protesters, BCL in Tangail, Comilla, Faridpur

At least 40 people were injured in a clash between protesters and members of the Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) in Tangail, Comilla, Faridpur.

In Tangail, The incident took place as protesters were holding a demonstration to press their nine-point demand.

To regain control of the situation, police resorted to firing tear gas.

Tangail District Commissioner Md Kaisarul Islam said that law enforcement officers have been instructed to maintain utmost patience to keep the situation calm.

At least 10 people were injured, including two who were shot, in a clash on Saturday between protesting students and Chhatra League members in Comilla.

In Comilla, the incident took place in front of the city’s Police Line intersection and District School around 1pm.

During the clash in the Police Line area, police were seen firing blanks towards the students.

However, the general students blamed Chhatra League for the incident.

In Faridpur, at least 15 people, including police officers, were injured during clashes between protesters and the police in Faridpur on Saturday. The protests were held to demand justice for recent killings. The students of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical College initiated a protest march on their campus around 11am.
