Netrakona Police Detective Branch (DB) arrested three drug traders and recovered ten kilograms of hemps from their possession from Gutura bazer area under Kalmakanda upazila of the district last Monday night.
Officer -in-charge of Netrakona DB police Saidur Rahman said, acting on a secret information, a team of plain clothed police persons of Netrakona DB conducted an anti-drug operation at the Gutura bazer area and caught three drug -traders red-handed and recovered ten kilograms of hemps from their possession.
The three arrested persons were identified as Dulal Mia, 60, of Murtuz Ali of village Igortali under Chunaraghat upazila of Hobiganj district, Shaharaj Mia, 20, son of late Nur Islam of the village Igortali and Rasel Mia, 24, son of Monju Mia of village Shimulia under Barhatta upazila of Netrakona district, he said.
Meanwhile, Netrakona DB police filed a case with Kalmakanda police station against the three arrested persons under the narcotics control act, he added.
