‘Ayomoy’ is one of the most discussed drama serials in the history of BTV written by the famous writer of Bangladesh, Humayun Ahmed. Dilara Zaman, Abul Hayat, Mozammel Hossain, KS Firoz,
Dr Enamul Haque, Asaduzzaman Noor, Suborna Mustafa, Saleh Ahmed, Tarana Halim, Bipasha Hayat, Afzal Sharif and many others acted in this
popular series.
‘Ayomoy’, directed by Nawazish Ali Khan, is
a popular drama serial of Bangladesh Television (BTV). It was broadcast on BTV in 1990-91. It was made during the British rule by mixing speech with literature. Its story centres on a decadent Bengali landlord.
The living legendary actor of the country, Asaduzzaman Noor,
was highly praised for playing the role of
‘Mirza’ in this serial.

winning veteran actress Dilara Zaman was well appreciated for playing the role of Noor’s
mother in this series.
After that, Asaduzzaman Noor and Dilara Zaman played the role of son and mother in several other dramas. But always ‘Ayomoy’ was at the top of the discussion.
While talking in this regard, Asaduzzaman Noor told this correspondent, “The age difference between Dilara Apa and me is not much. We are three or four years younger and older.
I address Dilara Apa as ‘Apa’. But due to acting
in ‘Ayomoy’ serial, it seems that the age difference between her and me may be too much. It could have been the story of brother and sister about us. But it didn’t happen. The audience who
accepted us as mother and son in ‘Ayomoy’, no one tried to break it later. However, the audience has accepted us as mother and son and still when ‘Ayomoy’ is discussed,
but then there was a discussion about Mirza and his mother. As an artiste, that’s really nice.”
On the other hand, Dilara Zaman shared
her feelings by this way, “Noor is a very talented and popular actor of our country. There is no doubt about it. At that time he came into the limelight by playing the role of my son Mirza in ‘Ayomoy’. Apart from acting, he is also very successful as a
politician. He is a five-time elected Member of the Parliament. He is also quite popular as a politician. As an actor, Noor is still very popular with
the audience. Still the directors dream of working with him. As an actor, it is a big achievement.

and ball, we both have the interest to work.”
