No polls can be fair under AL govt: BNP

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhurl Islam Alamgir on Thursday said that suspended Gaibandha by-polls showed that no election could be fair under the Awami League government.
“The Gaibandha by-polls was suspended as the internal interest sharing between ruling AL and the election commission had not been settled. This incident further proved that no polls can be neutral and acceptable under the AL government,” Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said while talking with journalists in Thakurgaon district unit BNP office on Thursday.
The BNP Secretary General said, “The election commission finally failed to conduct a free and fair elections in Gaibandha-5 Constituents after using all of its power. This proved that no EC can able to conduct fair polls under this government.”
