Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) has come under a sporadic attack for two days of the Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) which left over 70 workers of JCD injured.
But the behaviour of BCL is as though it is victim and posting photos, videos and texts on social media to boost their position on protesting JCD members. But the analysis of the photos and videos of the clashes, has proved the accuracy of the attack by BCL.
However, BCL staged a protest on Sunday against what it calls “attacks on its leaders and activists and general students by Chhatra Dal”.
Earlier, BCL leaders have filed a case against 50-60 leaders and activists of Chhatra Dal including 17 with names following the clashes.

Meanwhile, the general students of the dormitories used a trump card to protest the JCD members. The students especially first, second and third years have to gather at a specific location in the Hall around 8.00 am.
Later, a procession led by the hall unit BCL president and the secretary and took positions at several points of the campus and yelling out slogans so that Chhatra Dal could not get access to the campus.
Students and witnesse says BCL leaders and activists are taking positions every day in different areas of the DU, including TSC, Curzon Hall, Fuller Road, Central Shaheed Minar and Madhur Canteen from May 24. Many of them were carrying sticks and cricket stumps.
The students alleged that they were forced to attend the programme every day. Many times they are not able to do in class due to the programme.

They are BCL central vice president Tilottama Sikder, former CUET president Syed Imam, DU Dr Muhammad Shahidullah Hall president Sharif Ahmed, BCL activist Mahmud Chowdhury and Nazimuddin.
About the identification of BCL members, BCL president Joy said, “BNP, Chhatra Dal ravaged student politics in the country. Today everyone is sleeping comfortably, so it seems that you have forgotten everything.”
On May 24, leaders and activists of BCL carried out sporadic attacks on JCD members at Central Shaheed Minar while they proceed with a rallatto the university’s Teacher-Student Centre (TSC).
After that, on the days, clashes erupted again between BCL-JCD at Dayel Chattar of the university. DU administration later filed a case against 300-400 unidentified people of its concern.
DU Proctor Prof AKM Golam Rabbani said in this regard, “Some people tried to make entry into the campus with rods, stamps, wooden and bamboo sticks through Carzon Hall intended to make the campus environment worse and damaging the university resources. We have given some clues to the law enforcers to identify the miscreants.”
Later, On Thursday, JCD members again came under attack of BCL activists during their protest over the previous attack while some BCL were also seen beating one JCD man with stick for nearly 10 minutes even though he was lying motionless.
On this day, it was seen to fire bullet by BCL leader of south unit.
BCL president Joy expressed deep distress at a human chain protesting “attacks by Chhatra Dal” and demanding peace on the DU campus on Sunday about the role of journalist to cover news of the BCL-JCD clashes.
He said, “If anything happened, you make news including Chhatra League. You are identifying who is attacking Chhatra League. He did not carry any weapon in his hand, but you are saying with a picture that he carried a gun in his hand.”
“The first identity of the leaders and workers of Chhatra League is that they are students then they are Chhatra League. But if anything, you say there has been a clash with Chhatra League,” Joy added.
