Dr. Zafrullah Chowdhury, Founder and trustee board member of the Gonoshasthaya Kendra, who is infected by Covid-19 was experiencing respiratory problems on Thursday night. Now he is in a stable condition and being treated at Gonoshasthaya Nagar Hospital.
Gonoshasthaya Kendra’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Monjur Kader Ahmed said it to journalists on Friday.
On behalf of Zafrullah Chowdhury he requested the countrymen to keep him in their prayers.
Monjur said that Dr. Zafrullah was experiencing respiratory problems since he was taking regular dialysis at the hospital on Thursday night.
Officials of the hospital said that Dr. Mamun Mustafi and Dr. Nazib were closely treating Dr. Zafrullah Chowdhury since he admitted there on May 25 after tested Covid-19 positive.
Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury made significant contribution to the health sector of Bangladesh since the Liberation War in 1971. He was behind the country’s drug policy that helped boost the country’s pharmaceutical industry.
