34500 Rohingya refugees get pricey beef from IMI

On the occasion of holy month of Ramadan, the Impact Initiative (IMI) has distributed Ramadan Food Packages among the Rohingya refugees who are currently living in Bhashanchar island.

Approximately 34,500 Rohingya people from 62 clusters of Bhasanchar are the beneficiaries

of the food program. The donner agency MAA International – Australia has sponsored this Ramadan Food Program.

In continuation of the previous years, MAA has extended their humanitarian support to the Rohingya refugees, one of the repressed and helpless nations on this planet. Food Packincludes Chickpeas 2Kg, Kheshari Lentils 2Kg, Flattened Rice 2Kg, Flour 2Kg, Sugar 1Kg, Noodles (10 Pcs pack),Vermicelli (2 Packets), Lemon Juice Powder 200g, and Dates 500gram for 29000 people and fresh cow meat for 34500 people.

Apart from the Food Package, Impact Initiative started Ifter meal distribution for all families staying in Bhasanchar and it will continue till Ramadan. The organization also plan todistribute 1000 Cloths among the elderly men while last year they provided cloths among the Rohingya women living in the Bhasanchar island.

On the second day of Ramadan, Impact Initiative (IMI), with a view to provide nutritious food, IMI brought 62 large size cows from the mainland to Bhashanchar island and slaughtered them for the fresh meat. Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commissioner and Additional Secretary of Bangladesh Government, Mahfuzar Rahman had directly supervised the reliefdistribution program with the cooperation of NGO representatives. The CEO of the organization told that such types of support will be continued for the vulnerable Rohingyacommunities in future as well.
