3 journos infected with COVID-19

Another journalist of a daily newspaper has been infected with coronavirus, taking the total to three so far within a week.
The journalist who works in a daily newspaper as a crime reporter confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune on Friday.
He said, he was tested for coronavirus on Thursday as he was feeling sick for the last few days.
The test report came positive on Friday.
The doctor prescribed him some antibiotics and asked to stay isolated at home, he said.
The crime reporter said, he is now staying inside a room at his Malibagh residence following the doctor’s instructions.
Police also visited his house and talked to him, he further added. Shahjahanpur police station Inspector (investigation) Muradul Islam said we locked down that building after confirming one tested positive for COVID-19.
Earlier, two other television journalists were also infected with coronavirus.
Among them, a journalist of a private television channel tested positive for COVID-19 infection on Thursday, currently undergoing treatment at Kurmitola General Hospital in Dhaka.
On April 2, a videographer of private news channel Independent TV, tested COVID-19 positive, which led to 47 of his colleagues to be home-quarantined.
In the last few days, Bangladesh has seen a sharp rise in the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19, a severely acute respiratory illness that is caused by a new strain of coronavirus named Sars-CoV-2.
Since March 8, when the first three Covid-19 cases were reported in the country, 424 people have been detected with the deadly disease, 27 of whom died, while 33 made recovery, Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) Director Dr Meerjady Sabrina Flora made the announcement on Friday, during the daily briefing of the country’s coronavirus situation through video conference.
