Dhaka District North Detective Branch (DB) has arrested 3 professional drug dealers with huge quantity of Chola and Jawa liquor in a special operation in Ashulia. During this, 520 liters of Chola and 520 liters of Jawa liquor were recovered from them.
Dhaka District North Detective Branch (DB) Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Saidul Islam confirmed this information on Monday. Earlier, they were arrested in a drive in North Gazirchat area of Ashulia on Sunday.
The arrested are – Karun Bikash Chakma (20) son of Rupen Chakma of Dhamaipara area of Jorachari police station in Rangamati district, Md. Sohel Mia (32) son of deceased Mobarak Mia of Badurpur area of Matlab police station in Chandpur district and Md. Badal Bhuiyan (61) son of deceased Haji Tofazzal Hossain Bhuiyan of North Gazirchat area of Ashulia.
Dhaka District North Detective Branch Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Saidul Islam said that the arrested persons had been illegally producing drugs and supplying them to the local area by secretly setting up factories in the North Gazirchat area of Ashulia for a long time.
They are known as professional drug dealers in the area. During the operation, 520 liters of brewed liquor and another 520 liters of Jawa liquor were recovered from the custody of the accused.
During this, 2 gas stoves, 5 large silver pots and 50 polythene bags used in drug production were seized.
A case under the Narcotics Control Act was filed at Ashulia Police Station in the said incident and the accused were sent to the learned court.
