151 illegal Malaysia goers held in Cox’s Bazar

Coast Guard members in a drive arrested 151 people from the Bay of Bengal near Saint Martin in Teknaf upazila early Tuesday foiling their bid to migrate to Malaysia illegally. Dewan Rafiqul Awal, station commander of Teknaf coast guard, said a team of the forces, on a tip-off, arrested the people in two fishing boats around 4:30am while they were heading towards Malaysia illegally. After examination, they would be handed over to Teknaf thana police, the commander added. Sources at the Coast Guard said human traffickers brought the arrestees from different districts of the country to send them to Malaysia by boat illegally.
