The 12-day on-the-job training program on ‘Food Processing and Preservation’ has been completed at Chattagram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU).
The training program was organized under the ‘Program on Agricultural and Rural Transformation for Nutrition, Entrepreneurship and Resilience in Bangladesh (Partner-DAM Unit)’ project implemented by the Department of Agricultural Marketing at the initiative of the Food Processing and Engineering Department of CVASU.
Twonty five young and women entrepreneurs from the Chattagram region participated in the training program held from May 12-23. The closing ceremony of the training was attended by CVASU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Lutfur Rahman as the chief guest. University Treasurer Professor Dr. Md. Kamal and Deputy Director of the Department of Agricultural Marketing, Chattagram Md. Siraj Uddin Hossain were present as special guests.
The function was presided over by Professor Dr. Md. Kausar-ul-Alam, Head of the Department of Food Processing and Engineering, and was attended by teachers, officers and employees of the department. In his speech as the chief guest at the closing ceremony, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Lutfur Rahman highlighted the importance of industry-academia collaboration along with the goals and objectives of the university and mentioned the need for knowledge creation at the field level.
