The outpatient department of Chattagram Railway Hospital has been opened to everyone. Now, along with railway officials and employees, the general public can now receive treatment at this hospital.
The hospital was recently reorganized as a ‘General Hospital’.
Now, patients can get medical services and free medicines by buying a ticket for 5 taka in the outpatient department of this hospital. Patients who come to the outpatient department for treatment said that they are happy to get medical services at a low cost. However, they do not get all types of medicines from this hospital.
Chattagram Civil Surgeon Dr. Jahangir Alam said that the Ministry of Health has already appointed 19 specialist doctors and 6 nurses. If this is fully operational, the pressure on Chattagram Medical will be reduced to some extent. Railway Eastern Region Chief Medical Officer Dr. Ibne Safi Abdul Ahad said that some response has been received since its launch.
I hope that more response will be received with time. So far, 11 specialist doctors and 8 medical officers have been added to provide services in the outpatient department. A few more doctors will be added.
