GM Ziaur Rahman beat 2630 rated GM Abhijit Gupta of India in the 2nd round game of the Open Section of the Asian Continental Chess Championships is now being held at Sharjah in United Arab Emirates.
The 2nd round games were held on last Friday.
Zia played with white pieces used Trompowsky Attack and defeated Abhijit at 46 moves.
Zia earned maximum 2 points after 2nd round and jointly led the points table with other 6 players.
In the women section, WFM Nazrana Khan Eva lost to Shymgys Kyzy Aijarkyn of Kyrgyzstan. Eva could not earn any point out of 2 games.
