Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Saber Hossain Chowdhury said that the ministry is working to ensure the maximum punishment for the killers of Md. Sazzaduzzaman, the officer of the forest department who was killed by the criminals’ mini truck in Cox’s Bazar. He said, no exemption will be given to the criminals. All those responsible will be brought to justice through a transparent process. Such incidents in the past will also be judged. A special message will be given to prevent such incidents from happening in the future, says a press release.
The Minister of Environment and Forests said this while handing over a check of condolence and financial assistance to the family members of Md. Sazzaduzzaman, Beat Officer of the Forest Department, who was killed by a mini truck (dumper) of miscreants in Coxabazar at his residence in Vitikandi village of Ghazaria upazila of Munshiganj district on Sunday.
Expressing deep condolences to the family members of Forest Department officer Md. Sazzaduzzaman, the minister said that when the honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was informed about the incident, she also expressed grief and sorrow. The minister said that due to the untimely death of Md. Sajjaduzzaman, the family will not face financial crisis, so employment will be given to his wife. The Ministry and the Forest Department will always stand by his family.
Meanwhile, the minister handed over a total of Tk 15 lakh in checks and cash on behalf of the Ministry and Forest Department to the father of the deceased Beat Officer Md. Sazzaduzzaman. Later, the minister visited the grave of the slain beat officer.
Chief Conservator of Forests Md. Amir Hossain Chowdhury, Deputy Chief Conservator of Forests Gobinda Roy, Deputy Chief Conservator of Forests Md. Zahidul Kabir, Deputy Secretary (Forest) Abu Naeem Mohammad Maruf Khan along with Ministry, Conservator of Forests RSM Munirul Islam and Abdul Awal Sarkar of Forest Department, senior officials of the administration were present among others.
