Sylhet Srikers batter Zakir Hasan expressed relief at not having to play against ace-allrounder Shakib al Hasan in their next match of BPL.
Sylhet will play their next match against Shakib’s Rangpur Riders on January 23, however, the all-rounder will miss the match as he is going to Singapore for eye treatment.
Rangpur Riders captain Nurul Hasan Sohan addressed the issue after his side’s five-wicket defeat to Fortune Barishal on Saturday. It is not confirmed yet when he will return country as it will depend on the treatment procedure.
“Of course, it would be comforting for us not to face players like Shakib bhai. However, we still need to play well. Regardless of the team or the players, we need to perform well in order to win matches,” said Zakir.
Zakir was overwhelmed to have Mashrafe Morataza in the side, stating the veteran cricketer boost inspiration to the players and whole team.
“Actually, Mashfare bhai’s presence is an inspiration for us. Because when he is present, many decisions become much easier, in my opinion. That is very important for us,” he added.
